Gupi is a realistically furry robotic guinea pig who looks and feels like a real guinea pig and does everything a real guinea pig does – except he doesn’t need you to feed him or clean up after him. Now how perfect is that for the busy family today?
Gupi will walk around your house without bumping into obstacles due to infrared sensors in his eyes and nose. He is so “intelligent” he can even find his way through a maze. He is great for children to play with and cuddle. If he is not played with, he will become lonely and scared and will go and find a dark hiding place. Gupi also reacts to voices and sounds, depending on his mood. When he’s happy he’ll come running when you call him, but if he’s scared he’ll run away from loud noises. If you press the button on his carrot, he will dance and move towards the carrot.
There are also various sensors inside Gupi’s body which detect when he is being cuddled, and when he’s horizontal and free to move around. He has wheels underneath and can move around in any direction, forwards and backwards.
When he is hungry you insert his little carrot into his mouth to feed him (well, recharge his batteries). While he’s “eating” he makes a cute “gump-gump” sound and will cuddle up to you.
If you have more than one Gupi, they learn how to live and play together and will share food (ie the battery reloader) and will sing and dance with each other. Each Gupi has a unique ID code and uses Tamagochi® technology. Gupi can make more than 20 adorable sounds to reflect his various moods and activities.
